Marlin Ballard Falling Block Single Shot Rifle.Serial no. 20542, .32 long caliber, 28-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front blade sight and rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 2870 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.
Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of original finish, the balance a dark grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs, dings and scratches present to wood. Action crisp. Bright bore.
