Henry Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 14278 [barrel, left side of lower tang, on stock under upper tang and buttplate], .44 rimfire caliber, 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with blade front sight and ladder rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Henry's Patent address. HENRY'S PATENT OCT. 16, 1860. /
MANUFAC'D BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CT. Barrel mounted with sling swivel screws (no loop). Butt stock with sling swivel. Manufactured c 1867. 14278 is one of the highest serial numbers recorded.

Condition: Very good to Fine. Brass appears to have been polished. Barrel a smooth, thin gray-brown patina. Dark bore with moderate wear.
