    Kentucky Marked Triplett & Scott Repeating Rifle. Serial no. 946, .50 rimfire caliber, 30" round barrel with military sights. Only 3,000 produced. Blued and case-hardened finish. Single barrel band. Left side of receiver marked: Kentucky and Meriden Manfg. Co./ Meriden, Conn. Upper tang marked: Triplett & Scott/Patent Dec.6, 1864. Walnut stock marked with military cartouche. Crescent buttplate tapped for sling swivel. Toe of stock with fastener for rear sling swivel.
    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 50-60% original blue, the balance a very smooth mottled blue-gray patina. Scattered marks and patches of fine pitting. Receiver has faded to a smooth silver finish with some staining. Stock good to very good with age wear and scattered dents and 4-inch hairline crack left side of wrist. Sling swivels absent.
