    Joslyn Model 1862 Saddle Ring Carbine.

    Serial no. 1672, .52 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Lock marked: JOSLYN FIREARMS CO. / STONINGTON / CONN. Top of breech marked: B.F. JOSLYN'S PATENT / OCTOBER 8TH, 1861 / JUNE 24TH, 1862. Smooth hardwood stock with brass barrel band, triggerguard and buttplate.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 60-70% of a thinning finish with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. LM carved to left side of stock. Action good. Strong bore.
