    Inscribed London H. Lee Double Barrel Flintlock Rifle.

    Unserialized, approximately .62 caliber, 37-inch barrels with fixed front sight. Top of barrels marked: H. LEE. LONDON / H. LEE. ME. FECIT. Lock marked: H.LEE to each side. Checkered hardwood half-stock with brass tipped wood ramrod. Decorative and engraved silver inlays to stock. Right side marked: TO KILL / LEA FOWLES & MOOR FOWLES / H. LEE 1795 and MADE IN OLD ENGLAND & USED IN FOREIGN LANDS / GAVE FINALLY TO NEW ENGLAND HANDS. Left side features: Philippus V D G coin and 2 GOOD GUNS / WEDDED MAKE / 1 PERFED GUNN. Floral engraved triggerguard. Metal buttplate. Wooden ramrod. Note: This rifle comes with a notarized letter from the consignor stating its history, who's great great grandfather was Samuel Pomeroy Colt. Samuel Pomeroy Colt was the son of the brother to Samuel Colt [Inventor of the Colt revolver]. This item was acquired in 1987 by the consignor as he and his sister became the beneficiaries of the estate property.

    Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with moderate to heavy signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Appears to have also been cleaned. Numerous scattered scuffs and dings present to wood, wood re-stained at some point. Heavy dings to barrels concentrating to right side with pitting. Noticeable crack with loss to left side of forearm. Old repair also present on forearm near ramrod enclosure measuring about 1 x 3-inches. Actions function. Pitted bores.
