    Inscribed Henry Lever Action Rifle to John W. Rush

    Serial no. 4096 [barrel], .44 rimfire caliber, 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Brass frame. Case-hardened hammer and lever. Left side of frame inscribed: JOHN W. RUSH / CO. E. 87 IND. V.I. Smooth walnut straight stock with sling swivel. Crescent brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Manufactured in 1864.

    Condition: Very good. Finish a brownish grey patina with noticeable areas of handling wear, age and surface rust. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Top screw for buttplate is absent. Action functions. Pitted bore.
