    Henry Lever Action Repeating Rifle.

    Serial no. 8822 [barrel and buttplate], .44 rimfire caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Top of barrel marked: HENRY'S PATENT OCT. 16, 1860 / MANUFACT'D BY THE NEW HAVEN ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CT. Brass receiver. Lever latch. Smooth walnut stock. Crescent brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Manufactured in 1865.

    Condition: Very good. Finish a smooth grey patina with thinning to relief edges, scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Barrel has been shortened, but serial number and address are in the correct places. Barrel a little loose at receiver. Scattered scuffs and dings present to stock. Cleaning rod absent. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
