    Description

    Half-Stock Percussion Rifle by Vincent. .42 caliber, 43 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with short blade front sight. Top of barrel marked, "J. VINCENT." Lightly engraved lock marked, "TRUITT BROS./&CO." German silver vernier over barrel just forward of bolster. Brass triggerguard and set triggers. Engraved and pierced patchbox with no latch. Figured hardwood stock with cheekpiece. Brass tipped hardwood ramrod present. Condition: Poor to fair. Steel a dark gray mottled patina with scattered pitting. Lock ill fitting to wood which has losses behind bolster. Stock cracked and screw repaired at wrist. Triggerguard broken. Separation to stock at toe.
