    French Model 1842 Percussion Musket Made by Maubeuge Arsenal. No visible serial number, approximately .69 caliber, 42 1/2-inch round barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Polished finish. Lock marked Maubeuge. Walnut stock with three barrel bands, three sling swivels and one stacking swivel. Stock with faint inspector cartouches.
    Condition: Fair. Finish is spotty and dark with age. Significant powder pitting at the breech. Front band, spring and swivels are later replacements. Lacking loading rod. Stock well-worn with a few hairline cracks and loss at the edges of the stock along the barrel channel. Bore and action appear strong.
