Exceptional, Untouched, 1st Type, Confederate S. C. Robinson .52 Caliber Percussion Carbine, #1275 matching. Crisp lock markings include serial #1275 and "S. C. Robinson / Arms Manufactory / Richmond, Va. / 1862." Also serial numbered on the breech tang. Metal generally smooth with deep dark untouched patina and just some minor small scattered areas of salt and peppering on the barrel, very nice. There is some heavier pitting on the top of the breech block. Extreme tip broken from the breech block retaining pin. Missing saddle ring, bar in place, else the gun is complete original and untouched in every respect, with crisp action and very good bore. Brass mountings with dark untouched patina. There is a period cluster of small dents on the back of the buttplate, barrel band perfect. Wood really excellent, near perfect with deep rich untouched patina. Just a few very minor old dents the result of honest use . As nice an example of wood as we've seen on one of these guns, really exceptional. Unquestionably one of the finest untouched examples of this scarce early Confederate Sharps we've ever handled.
