    Engraved Martially Inspected Henry Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 3056, .44 rimfire caliber, 24-inch barrel with brass front sight and ladder type rear sight. Top flat marked: Henry's Patent Oct. 16, 1860/Manufactured by New Haven Arms Co. New Haven, Ct. Right side of barrel at breech marked: C.G.C./H. Scroll-engraved brass frame. Lever action. Steel hammer and lever. Varnished walnut buttstock. Scroll engraved brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Brass screws in buttplate. No sling mounts. Manufactured mid 1863, one of 1730 units made during the Civil War. Sold with copy files on subject rifle. Condition: Very good. Barrel showing a rich, plum brown age patina, mixed with traces of original blue and evidence of rebrowning near muzzle. Brass frame with mellow age patina. Light marks on bottom of lifter. Wood with light wear, early handling marks. Small chip crack at left top of stock near rear of frame. No cleaning rod present. Action very good.
