    Enfield MKII Single Shot Rifle.
    Serial no. 2478, .45 caliber, 33-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Right side of receiver marked: (crown) / V.R. / ENFIELD / 1878 / (crown proof) / II and (arrow) / S.A. / 2478 / S. Various British proofs to barrel and receiver. Smooth walnut straight stock and forearm. Faint cartouche to right side of tock above II / I. Two sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Metal ramrod and buttplate.

    Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
