    Description

    Early U.S. Springfield Musket with Interesting Conversion to Percussion. Lock is marked Springfield with eaglehead, converted to percussion with the addition of a tube brazed in the jaws of the original flint hammer. 42" barrel with eaglehead over P proof has a drum conversion to percussion. Stock has a dark even surface with minor dents and scratches, metal surfaces are smooth and gray with a mixture of light pitting around the lock and nipple and areas of dark staining on the barrel. Dark .69 caliber smooth bore barrel, ramrod has been shortened.
