    Description

    Civilian .45-70 Remington Rolling Block Musket.
    Unserialized, .45-70 caliber, 34-inch round barrel with side-mounted bayonet lug. Adjustable rear sight marked with numerals 1-4 on left side and 10 at the top. Polished steel finish. Upper tang with E. Remington & Sons address, last patent date is March 16, [1874] Inspector's initial H to left side of receiver. Smooth walnut stock with three barrel bands and two sling swivels. All three barrel bands with inspector initial U. Overall length 49 ½-inches.

    Condition:Very good to fine. Metal a thin gray-brown patina with minor spotting. Receiver with traces of silver case-colors and small patches of fine pitting at breech. Stock is very good with light age wear and patina. Ram rod channel showing light abrasions. Bright bore showing very light wear. 1874 date in patent stamp is not legible.
