    Description

    C. 1825 Eastern Pennsylvania Flintlock Full Stock 'Ball Gun'. 45 1/4" .58 caliber smoothbore octagon to round barrel. Sighted both front and rear with the front sight being a long brass blade. All brass furniture including 2 3/4" toe plate. The side plate is a nicely executed engraved replacement with beveled edges. The lock is signed "George Golcher" with the gun being a nicely done reconversion. Very nicely figured curly maple stock, showing the loss of a few slivers, and a few hairlines along the forward portion of the forestock. Relatively unobtrusive but also readily restorable. Retains the original wooden ramrod and a very attractive example of a 'buck and ball' gun from this desirable school.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
