British Percussion "Brunswick" Rifle. 30" round barrel with two groove rifling in a bore that measures .76. The bore is fair to poor. A thick V sight is dovetailed at the rear of the barrel, and a stubby blade front sight very near the muzzle. Three proof marks and several other difficult to discern markings between the rear sight and the breech plug. A long bayonet stud affixed to the barrel on the right side near the muzzle. The round faced lock is marked with a crown over "VR" behind the hammer and "1853 / Enfield" forward of the hammer, with a small crown over a broad arrow and another crown over "P" near the front of the plate. All mounts are brass including butt plate, patch box, trigger guard, nose cap, ramrod thimbles and lock screw washers. Three barrel keys secure the barrel to the walnut stock. The gun shows honest wear and use overall , the stock with a number of dents / scratches commensurate with that use. The left side of the forestock has a small period wood repair, minor, and the rear sling swivel is missing. Overall with nice smooth patina and just some medium pitting around the nipple. Nice representative example of this innovative British rifle.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
