    Winchester-Hotchkiss Bolt Action Carbine. Serial no. 607, .45-70 caliber, 24-inch round barrel with leaf front and adjustable rear sights. Blued finish. Walnut stock with saddle ring, carbine butt plate and nickeled brass fore-end tip with hinged door covering a compartment for the cleaning rods. Stock with faint cartouche on the left side.
    Condition: Good as reconfigured. Receiver and trigger guard with what appears to be original finish; barrel with a much later painted on finish. Barrel and rear sight later replacements. Stock with moderate scratching, small dents and abrasions; cracked spot on top of butt just aft of bolt. Bright bore. Strong action. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
