Serial no. 114812. .30-40 Krag. 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and Model 1902 rear sight marked with a "C" on the base for carbine. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 114812". Walnut stock with faint circle "P" firing proof and faint "JLA / 1899" inspector's cartouche on the left side. Lacking hand guard. Metal buttplate with trap door for cleaning rod.
Condition: Good. Finish on metal worn thin and displaying a smooth mottled gray patina. Sight base lacking rear securing screw. Stock with typical light scratches and shallow dents. Bore dirty with some pitting. Mechanically sound.
