    U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1899 Krag Bolt Action Carbine Modified With Sub-Target Training Device. Serial no. 226375, .30-40 caliber, 22-inch barrel with standard military sights. Blued finish. Modified with Sub-target practice equipment manufactured by the Sub-Target Gun Company of Boston to train riflemen in the correct positions, sight picture and trigger manipulation without firing a shot. Sub-target device for stationary mounting affixed to the right hand side. Sub-target machine attachment mounted to bolt. Walnut stock with finger grooves and bayonet lug. Condition: Very good as configured. Retaining approximately 80% finish with light surface rust and mottling to surface. Stock modified to accept the mounting device. Front band screw and rear sling swivel lacking. Bright bore. Strong action. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
