    Description

    U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.
    Serial no. 413344.30-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed blade front sight and Model 1901 rear sight. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 413344".Walnut stock and handguard. Circle "P"proof on the underside of the stock wrist and "JLA / 1902" inspector's cartouche on the left side of the stock. Metal buttplate with trapdoor for cleaning rod. Sold with a military-style leather sling.

    Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 75% thin blue finish. Casehardened parts aged to an overall mottled gray. Stock has been lightly sanded; handguard with a crack from the front left side to the front of the sight base (about 20-inches). Stock with a few shallow dents and abrasions from handling. Dark, somewhat worn bore. Mechanically sound.
