    U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.
    Serial no. 302414. .03-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed blade front sight and Model 1902 rear sight. Barrel blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked: "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 302414". Walnut stock and handguard. "JLA / 1901" inspector's cartouche on the left side of the stock; circle "P" proof on the underside of the wrist. Metal buttplate with trapdoor for cleaning rod. Sold with a military-style leather sling.

    Condition: Good. Spotty finish on the barrel, the remaining finish a smooth brown patina. Receiver with a mottled grey appearance. Wood furniture with scattered shallow scratches, dents and abrasions. Strong bore; excellent mechanical condition. Leather sling well-worn but serviceable.
