    Rock Island Arsenal U.S. Model 1903 Bolt Action Rifle and Bayonet. Serial no. 235859, .30-06 caliber, 24-inch barrel with fixed front and adjustable rear sights. Blued finish with casehardened receiver. Barrel dated 8-13. Straight walnut stock with grasping grooves and hand guard. Faint 1913 dated inspector's cartouche and circle "P" firing proof. Checkered buttplate. Two barrel bands, two sling swivels, one stacking swivel and bayonet lug. Sold with a 1913 dated Remington bayonet which was used by the British as it bears English proofs on the reverse ricasso and has the added date stamp of 7 17. The bayonet is complete with English scabbard.
    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 60-70% casehardening; barrel and front band appears refinished. Wood with scattered scratches, shallow dents and abrasions. Bright bore, smooth action. Bayonet in very good condition.
