Description

    French Model 1916 Berthier Bolt Action Rifle. Serial no. 16534, 8 x 50Rmm caliber, 32-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Leaf rear sight. Bolt and component parts with mismatched numbers. All metal components blued except bolt which remains in the white. Marked St. Etienne Mle. 16 on the left side of the receiver. Hardwood stock with two barrel bands, two sling swivels, stacking rod and metal buttplate. This model was one of the standard French infantry rifles of WWI. It is also known as Fusil 1907-1916.

    Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 50-60% finish with scattered light surface rust and general moderate wear. Stock with the usual abrasions, scratches and dents. Armorer's repair to the stock on the left side of the stock near the rear tang. Mechanically sound. Bore dark and pitted.
