    Serial no. 1159. .35 Whelen. 24-inch matted blued barrel with quarter rib with standing rear sight. Ramped front spear sight. Matte blued bolt action. Single-stage trigger. Side safety. Finely checkered pistolgrip stock of highly figured exhibition grade walnut. Ebony fore-end tip. Cheekpiece. Hard rubber grip cap. Decelerator recoil pad. Sling eyes. Schmidt-Bender 1.25-4x20 telescopic sight on double mounts. Cross hairs with bold side and lower ranging bars. Condition: Very Good. Right front side of barrel shows extensive losses to the bluing with a small amount of losses to the metal. Excellent bright bore. Balance of gun in Excellent condition. Action shows 99% bluing. Stock shows some nicks and scratches. Fore-end tip shows a shrinkage crack. Telescopic sight shows clear optics. Note: The 35 Whelen is a necked-up 30/06 case to take a .358 200 to 250 grain bullet. The cartridges are presently being made by Hornady and Remington.
