    Description

    *U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Carbine. Serial no. 134097, .30-40 caliber, 23-inch barrel with pedestal front sight and 1901 carbine rear ladder sight. Receiver made in September of 1898 according to the Poyer book. Model 1902 handguard, 1899 stock and headless bolt and no saddle ring bar. Blued finish. Varnished walnut stock. According to consignor, this carbine was assigned to the Nevada National Guard and was used as a parade gun by the honor guard. Canfield and Poyer note carbines #133725 and #133919 were issued to the 1st Nevada Volunteer Cavalry in 1898, so this gun falls within that serial number range.
    Condition: Very good as refinished. Retaining approximately 90-95% reblued finish with scattered light wear overall. Wood refinished. Action good.
