    *.465 Nitro Express Holland & Holland Royal Ejector Double Rifle. Serial no. 32043. .465 Nitro Express. 24-inch chopper lump barrels marked: Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London. Smooth concave rib marked: .465 Bore Rimmed Cartridge. Matted quarter rib with spear point and express sights, with one standing sight restamped 50 and two folding leaves, restamped 100 and 200. Spear front sight on a raised spear pointed base with a folding night sight. Casehardened action with back action locks engraved with Holland & Holland bold foliate scroll. Hidden third fastener. Hand detachable locks. Cocking indicators. Ejectors. Manual safety. Hinged checkered front trigger. Extended tang. Rolled triggerguard. Finely checkered pistolgrip stock of figured walnut. Drop points. Cheekpiece. Casehardened sculpted grip cap with trap containing three replacement front sights. Period replacement Silver's type recoil pad. Gold oval with initials. Sling swivels. Checkered enlarged splinter fore-end with Anson-style release.

    Data: Proof: London, Nitro, .465-3 1/4, Cordite 75-480 Max. Pull: 15 inches. Weight: 10 pounds 9 ounces. Note: According to the make's the rifle was built in 1935.
    Condition: Excellent, as partially redone. Barrels show 94-96% reblued finish with losses along fore-end edge and on side of left barrel. Very light pitting on barrel flats. Light nicks on underside of barrels in front of lump. Fine scratches under bluing on top and bottom of barrels at muzzle. Excellent bore. Action shows 5-10% case colors with balance a silver/gray patina. Locks shows 80-90% muted/faint case colors. Top strap shows 80-90% muted/faint case colors. Triggerplate shows 90% dark case colors. Very small areas of spotting on top lever and left watertable. Triggerguard shows 80% bluing on bow and gray patina on tang. Breech face has been cleaned, with some small traces of light pitting. Right bar of action shows very small area of light pitting. Stock shows light marks and impressions. Recoil pad missing screw plug. Very slight loss (1 check) on grip checkering. Fore-end shows very slight losses to edges and marks and impressions at nose. Losses to 5 checks and impression that has damaged 8 checks.
