    Description

    JUDAEA. Roman era, circa 200-300 CE. Beit Natif type oil lamp. Of terracotta with light pink slip glaze, this lamp is 3.55 inches (9 cm) in length and is intact, decorated with a large wine amphora over the nozzle, and grape clusters around the shoulder. Cf. Haneroth Halalou, Joseph Chaim Kaufman Collection of Oil Lamps, nos. 696-699 for lamps with similar motifs. Intact; old museum number in red ink on bottom.
