    Description

    ANCIENT NEAR EAST. Middle-Late Bronze Age, circa 1800-1600 BCE. Luristan bronze ax head. Of brutally simple design,5.5 inches (13.7 cm) in length, with a rectangular blade and a cutaway socket. Cf. Ancient Persian Bronzes in the Adam Collection by P.R.S. Moorey (Ashmolean Museum, 1974), page 38, plate 3 for a similar example.
