    Remington Model 1871 Rolling Block Single-Shot Army Pistol. NSNV, .50 caliber, 8-inch round barrel with integral sight. Case-hardened rolling block action, the left side marked: Remington's Ilion N.Y. U.S.A./Pat. May 3P November 15th, 1864 April 17th, 1866. Prawl present on backstrap. Varnished walnut fore-end and one-piece grip with CRS inspector's cartouche. Approximately 6,000 manufactured. Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 65-75% faded and thinning finish with scattered areas of light wear present. Areas of silvered case-hardening on frame. Grips are very good, refinished with light wear and minor marks present. Action tight and crisp.
