    Description

U.S.Colt Artillery Model Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 116345[frame], 92448 [triggerguard],31177 [butt], .45 caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with single line italicized Hartford address. Government inspector marking initials D.F.C. on frame. Blued finish. Frame with 3-line, 3-date patents and marked U.S. Barrel and right side of frame also stamped W.C.C.G. Varnished walnut grips.
Condition: Fair to good as refinished. Retaining approximately 90-95% of a re-done blue. Pitting visible below finish on cylinder. Hammer and cylinder pin likely are replacements. Action needs adjustment as hammer will not fall. Grips are good as revarnished. Some shrinkage evident.

David Mamet's Notes: I bought this gun from a firearms auction a long time ago. It is stamped from the WESTERN COSTUME COMPANY; that is, it was a prop used in very many cowboy movies. So I removed the mainspring (which is also included, but not at this writing installed) and used the revolver as a paperweight. I showed it to R.L. Wilson and remarked about it as a movie gun. He checked it out and said that that was swell.
