    U.S. Smith & Wesson Second Model Schofield Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 6998, .45 caliber, 7-inch ribbed barrel with altered front sight. Nickel-plated finish. Barrel lug stamped: "C" and "E". Top-break single action with spring-loaded ejection system. Back of cylinder stamped: "6998/P". Factory ivory grips. Contained in an associated period western leather holster with integral security strap and belt loop.

    Condition: Fair to good. Retaining approximately 10-15% finish, the remainder showing a dark age patina and scattered pitting overall. Sight filed down. Some screws marred or replaced. Grips both showing heavy wear with major losses to toes. Action good. Holster with wear, restitching and repairs.
