    Smith & Wesson First Model Schofield Single Action Revolver.
    Serial no. 2886 [cylinder and butt], .45 caliber, 7-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Right side of barrel marked: SCHOFIELD'S PAT. APR. 22D 1878. Case-hardened hammer. Smooth hardwood grip panels with inlaid US star to right panel.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with scattered handling wear and patches of pitting. Small crack to right side of frame below the cylinder barrel catch. Heavy scuffs and dings to grips, large crack at base of right panel. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
