Smith & Wesson First Model American Single Action Revolver with Book.
Serial no. 2114 [butt], .44 S&W caliber, 8-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Nickel-plated finish. U.S. stamped to top of rib. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Smooth hardwood grip panels. Sold in a shipment to U.S. Government in March, 1871. In the shipment were a 1,000 total, 800 were blued finish and 200 nickel-plated, making this a very rare and unique revolver. Sold along with the book Smith & Wesson American Model, by Pate. Firearm is featured on page 93, in the list of serial numbers of the nickel-plated martial S&W American Models.

Condition: Fine to excellent. Thin spot near top of right side of frame. Overall showing light handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Few trivial scuffs and scratches. Scattered minor dings to grips. Action good. Strong bore.
