    Description

    Remington Old Model 1861 Army Percussion Revolver.

    Serial no. 8001, .44 caliber, 8-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer. Brass triggerguard with R inspector mark. Various inspector markings to left side of frame, triggerguard and barrel. Smooth walnut grip panels. Manufactured in 1862, approximately 6,000 made.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of age, handling wear and pitting. Noticeable heavy scuffs and dings present to wood, with some loss at bases of panels. Action ok, a bit lose. Moderately pitted bore.
