    Rare Long Fluted Colt Single Action Army Revolver Shipped to El Paso 1915. Serial no. 331179, .45 caliber, 5 ½-inch barrel with single line Hartford address. Blued and case-hardened finish. Rare, long-fluted cylinder which is numbered to the gun. Frame marked with 2-line, 3-date patent and Rampant Colt logo. Triggerguard has factory proof mark. Carved mother-of-pearl grips. The left panel in the figure of an eagle's head, the right panel a flying eagle figure with flag or shield. Sold together with Colt factory letter confirming current configuration (stocks not listed) and noting a ship date of 1915 to Shelton Payne Arms in El Paso, Texas. The letter also lists the buyer as Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Included in the lot are a Colt hardwood revolver case and 2 nickel-plated cylinders. Note: Shelton Payne Arms was a very large hardware store. 1915 was the middle of the Mexican Revolution. Arms and ammunition were in high demand by all parties.
    Condition: Excellent as redone. According to the consignor this revolver was sent back to the Colt factory. Retaining approximately 95-98% finish throughout. Vibrant case colors. Only minor fine scratches observed on cylinder. Grips show subtle, fine coloration and nicely detailed engraving. Small repair to lower left corner of left panel. Bore is excellent with one possible patch of fine pitting. Action crisp and tight.
