    Rare 4-Digit 7th Cavalry Custer-Era U.S. Colt Single Action Army Revolver.
    Serial no. 6078 [frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: - COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. -. Ainsworth "A" inspector mark to base of barrel, cylinder, triggerguard and backstrap. "P" stamped to base of barrel and cylinder. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Left side stamped 5 and butt stamped 20/23. Manufactured in 1874. The serial number falls in the range of Custer's 7th Cavalry troops. Accompanied by John A. Kopec letter dated July 23, 2019.

    Condition: Good as buffed and re-blued. Finish primarily light brown patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Patent dates and U.S. removed from frame during buffing process. Scattered scuffs and dings present to replacement grip. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
