    Description

Peerless Colt Wells-Fargo 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver c. 1852. Serial no. 48133, .31 caliber, 3-inch octagonal barrel with two-line New York address and short barrel bolster. Correct soft blue finish. Mottled case-hardened hammer and frame. Silver-plated triggerguard and gripstrap assembly. Varnished walnut grips. Usually found with little or no finish, this example is among the finest of this model known; all matching serial numbers. One of the rarest major varieties of this series of Colt revolvers and needed to complete any 1849 collection. Condition: Excellent to mint. Retaining approximately 98% original soft blue finish with slight wear to relief edges. Crisp cylinder scene, retaining approximately 90% soft blue finish. Triggerguard and gripstrap assembly retaining approximately 98-100% silver-plated finish, now with beautiful untouched age patina. Grips near mint. Action tight and crisp. An exceptional example.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
