    Inscribed Smith & Wesson Model No. 3 Single Action Revolver.
    Serial no. 917 [top latch, cylinder and butt], .44 caliber, 6 1/2-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Nickel-plated finish. Left side of frame inscribed: F.J. DAVENPORT CURLEY / OKLAHOMA APR. 21 - 1889 / WORLD WAR / PROHIBITION / OFFICER / 1922 - 3 / DEPUTY U.S. MARSHAL 1930 - 34. Top-break. Smooth hardwood grip panels with mother-of-pearl inlays and faux diamonds. (star) to butt, indicating a factory refinish.

    Condition: Fine as refinished. Retaining approximately 70-80% finish, with noticeable thin spots to each side of barrel. Paint to grips, scuffs, dings and cracks to base of each panel. Several faux diamonds absent. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
