    Rare Documented Factory Engraved Bisley

    Important Factory Engraved Colt Bisley Single Action Revolver.
    Serial no. 329170, .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with Hartford address and marked on the left side: (BISLEY MODEL) 45 COLT. Nickel-plated finish. Level 2 factory scroll-engraved over fine stippled background. Carved steer head mother-of-pearl grips with ruby eyes and Colt medallions. 2-line, 3-date patent mark to left side of frame. Left trigger bow with VP proof and numeral 1. Sold together with a Colt Factory Letter dated 2011 which confirms Colt engraving, caliber and barrel length including, "Yes. Level 2 engraving." Sold to Holt of Waco, Texas. Shipped in 1914 to Simmons Hardware, St. Louis, Missouri. Factory engraved Bisley revolvers with 7 1/2-inch barrels and carved mother-of-pearl grips are almost unknown.

    Condition: Excellent as factory re-nickeled from original factory silver finish. Retaining approximately 90-95% nickel. 6-point star on frame under the grips indicating work done at the Colt factory. Some minor flaking and thinning observed on hammer and frame just above the grips. Bright, strong bore showing very little wear.
