Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver Inscribed to Rodeo Queen Lulu Parr.
Serial no. 77878, .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with Hartford address. Nickel-plated finish with fire-blued trigger. Custom scroll-engraved over fine punch-dot background over most of the gun. Wavy-line borders on barrel and frame. 3-line, 3-date patent marking left side of frame. Smooth walnut grips. Backstrap is hand engraved: TO LULU PARR FROM ZACK MILLER. Top of grip strap, below hammer, is an engraved likeness of a cowgirl with revolver on a bucking horse. Sold together with a factory letter confirming an 1883 ship date to J.P.Moores Sons, NY also states the gun was nickel-plated, .45 caliber and interprets "barrel length not listed" as 7 1/2-inch since this length was "considered standard issue for that time."

Condition: Very good to fine as custom engraved. Retaining approximately 40-50% of the nickel-plating, the balance a polished steel finish with scattered patches of fine pitting. Flaking of nickel observed at muzzle. Grips fine with traces of old varnish and just a few small dings. Old repair to left grip heel. Action tight. Bore very good with light wear and some very light pitting.

Lulu Parr was a western cowgirl and championship horsewoman. As a bronc rider she thrilled Wild West Show audiences for many years during the early 20th century. Her association with The Miller Brothers 101 Ranch (1910-1913) is well-documented. What ties her to this gun is just the inscription.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
