Engraved Colt Bisley Single Action Revolver. This great grouping, consigned by a direct descendant, includes:
    1. Sheriff Robinson's Colt, with his name engraved on the top of the barrel. Beautiful after-market engraving. Serial no. 250920 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .32 W.C.F. caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Nickel-plated finish. Custom floral and scroll engraving. Initials EJR also engraved to right side of frame. Smooth celluloid grip panels.
Condition: Excellent as refinished. Overall showing light handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
    2. Well-used leather holster and gunbelt by Lebman of San Antonio, with marked sterling silver Bohlin buckle.
    3. Original cabinet photo of a youthful Robinson, signed on verso.
    4. Robinson's letterhead as sheriff and tax collector.
    5. Signed, handwritten list of expenses and receipt signed by Robinson.
    6. Appointment as sheriff of Garza County, signed by Texas governor James Ferguson (perhaps best remembered for preceding his famous wife "Ma" Ferguson in that office).
    7. A pair of mother-of-pearl grips with Asian motif custom-made for the gun by Robinson's grandson while stationed in Japan after WWII, as a gift for his father.
    8. Copy image of a photo of Robinson with his deputies, circa 1901. The deputies' stars are visible, although Robinson's (seated in center) is not.
Born in 1861 in Jackson County, Missouri, Robinson later settled in Arapaho, Custer County, Oklahoma Indian Territory. He was elected county sheriff in 1900, serving 1901-1902. In 1908 the Robinson family moved by covered wagon to Garza County, Texas, where he became sheriff in 1915 and served until his death in 1919.
A wonderful grouping for a man who served as sheriff in both Oklahoma Territory and Texas!

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
