    Composite U.S. Colt First Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver. Serial no. 3332 (except barrel lug and wedge 3250), .44 percussion caliber, 7 1/2-inch round barrel with dovetailed brass blade front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Barrel address, reading breech to muzzle, ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY. Left side of frame marked: COLT'S/PATENT/U.S. Unmarked cylinder with round stops. Square brass triggerguard with circular spot on gripstrap. Smooth walnut grips.

    Condition: Very good as configured. Metal a very smooth mottled gray-brown patina with scattered patches of fine pitting. Barrel lug serial number is a mis-match. Traces of case colors on lever, frame and hammer. Smooth mellow patina to brass. Two holes in butt and one on the backstrap. Grip with shim to improve fit at butt. Later mainspring with metal shims and old star washer. Grips: Fine with normal shrinkage and scattered dents and scuffs. Action is crisp.
