    Colt Model 1878 Double Action Frontier Six-Shooter. Serial no. 37896, .44-40 caliber, 7 ½-inch barrel with single-line Hartford address. Nickel-plated finish. Left side of barrel with roll-stamped legend: COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER. Back of cylinder stamped: 896 and letter V. Blued screws. Back of loading gate stamped: 41. Case-hardened hammer. Fire-blued trigger. Bird's head grip, the left side of interior strap stamped: 41. Checkered black hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt at top [stamped C44 on interior]. Lanyard ring. Condition: Excellent. Retaining approximately 75-80% finish with areas of grey metal blended to match nickel, particularly on frame and cylinder. Light scratches and marks overall. Grips excellent. Action excellent.
