    Colt Model 1872 Open Top Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 3359 [barrel,frame,triggerguard and butt], .41 caliber, 5 1/16-inch barrel with address reading: Address Col. Saml Colt New York U.S. America. Arbor is stamped 845. Nickel-plated finish. One-piece walnut grips. Condition: Fair as altered. Barrel has been shortened. Loading gate and spring are absent. Retaining strong traces of nickel-plating primarily in protected areas, the balance a gray-brown patina with scattered dents and scratches. Hammer has been altered to centerfire. General looseness to the gun. Ejector rod housing missing tip. Grips with heavy wear and later coat of varnish. Losses at toes and hairline crack to right panel. Action functions.
