Serial no. 780/I [barrel, frame,triggerguard, cylinder, loading gate and butt], .38 caliber centerfire, 7 1/2-inch barrel with address reading: Address Col Saml Colt New-York U.S. America. Left side of frame marked: Colt's Patent. Nickel-plated finish. Brass triggerguard and backstrap. Left side of triggerguard marked: 36 CAL. One-piece walnut grips. Condition: Fair. Retaining approximately 15-20% original nickel-plating, the balance a gray metal patina with patches of heavy pitting. Grips fair with losses and ill-fitting to frame. Action functions, timing needs adjustment.
