    Colt Model 1860 Army First Type Richards Conversion Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 2224, .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel with single-line New York address and factory nickel-plated German silver front sight. Nickel-plated finish. Colt two-line patent dates on left side of frame. Crisp naval scene on cylinder. Left side of conversion band numbered: 929; right side of band: 929. Integral rear sight on top of band and ejector rod projecting from rear of housing. Nickel-plated brass triggerguard and gripstrap assembly. Varnished walnut grips. Total production, about 9,000, numbering from 1 to approximately 8700 [see The Book of Colt Firearms, R.L. Wilson, page 219-220]. Condition: Excellent as configured. Retaining approximately 85-90% factory renickeled finish with wear to some relief edges and tiny spots of pitting. Ejector rod button slightly bent. Grips refinished and showing minor wear to relief edges, light marks on butt. Action crisp.
