    Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver.
    Serial no. 97578(all matching including wedge), .36 percussion caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with brass bead front sight and single-line Hartford address. Blued and case-hardened finish. Left side of frame marked: COLT'S/PATENT. Brass triggerguard and backstrap. Varnished walnut grips with six notch scratches on butt. Manufactured 1860. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Good. Some traces of original finish in protected areas. Finish otherwise a mostly smooth blue-gray patina with scattered fine pitting. Cylinder scene is weak but patent markings and serial number are visible. Grips retaining approximately 70-80% varnish with age wear and soiling. Action poor.
