Description
Colt Hartford-London Dragoon Model Percussion Revolver.Serial no. 675 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch partial octagon barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY. London proof marks on cylinder. COLTS / PATENT stamped to left side of frame. Brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Of the 700 London Dragoons, it is estimated that around 200 were returned to Hartford for use in the U.S. Civil War.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a grey patina with scattered areas of handling wear, age and patches of patina. Some olive toning to brass. Noticeable scuffs and dings present to wood. Action functions. Pitted bore. Nelson A. Faerber Collection.
