    Description

    Civil War Colt 1860 Army Single Action Revolver and Holster With Factory Letter.
    Serial no. 125116, all visible numbers matching, .44 caliber, 8-inch round barrel, walnut grips. Single line Colt address on top of barrel. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter indicating the revolver was sold to the U.S. Government and shipped to the Commanding Officer at Governor's Island, New York on June 25, 1863 as one of a shipment of 1,000 guns. Sold with a brown leather military-style holster.

    Condition: Fair. No original finish remaining with faint traces of cylinder scene. Scattered nicks and dings. Dark bore. Action needs adjustment as hammer won't stay in the full cocked position. Holster is well worn with some loss to the leather on the reverse side and lacking the leather portion that covers the end of the barrel and closure tab.
