    Civil War Carried Colt Model 1860 Army Single Action Revolver with Factory Letter.
    Serial no. 47115 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel with one-line barrel address and fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. COLTS / PATENT stamped to left side of frame. Brass triggerguard. One-piece walnut grip. Manufactured in 1862.
    Note: Revolver was carried by Jacob W. Miller, Private in Company C, 8th Indiana Volunteer Cavalry. He was enrolled on September 25, 1863, until the unit disbanded on July 20, 1865.
    Notarized letter provided by the family discusses the timeline of the revolver is included. Also come with factory letter dated April 9, 2018. Confirms specifications and also shows the revolver was sold to the United States War Department and shipped to Lt. Col. G.D. Ramsey at the Washington Arsenal.

    Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina, with signs of wear and pitting throughout. Heavy dings and bruises to grip. Noticeable woods to base of grips and corners. Action good. Pitted bore.
